Who We Are
Investment Portfolio Design Ltd was started by two academics with a passion for and long experience in investing money, and a Guelph finance student of these two professors. Two former Guelph students of these professors have also joined INPODE and are listed below. INPODE builds portfolios for an OSC-accredited professional portfolio manager.
The following five people are INPODE’s team members.
Francis Tapon is a co-founder of INPODE Ltd. Francis started his investment career at Charterhouse, Japhet and Thomasson Ltd, a merchant bank in London England. He left Charterhouse to go back to the United States and study for a PhD in economics and finance. Since then Francis has taught investment finance at universities in Canada, the US, Australia and France.
Francis holds a Diploma from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (France); an MBA from Columbia Business School; an MA and a PhD in finance and economics from Duke University. Francis Tapon is Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Guelph (Canada).
Vitali Alexeev is a co-founder of INPODE Ltd. Vitali was captivated by portfolio optimization methods during his postgraduate studies and came to money management to apply his skills. His academic research with Francis Tapon gave birth to the idea behind INPODE Ltd.
Vitali holds a BA in Economics (with Distinction), International University, Moscow, (Russia); an MA in Economics, York University, Toronto, Canada; a Graduate Diploma in Financial Engineering, Schulich School of Business, Toronto; PhD in Economics, University of Guelph, Canada. Vitali Alexeev is Lecturer in Economics and Finance at the University of Tasmania (Australia).
Christian O’Brien joined INPODE in 2013. He is responsible for business development, and operations. As a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant he has experience auditing organizations in various industries, performing reviews, notice to readers, and filling corporate and personal tax returns. Christian works with the OSC-accredited portfolio manager who sells the portfolios that INPODE designs.
Christian holds a B.Comm in Management Economics Industry and Finance from the University of Guelph, the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
Jason Di Reto was born and raised in Guelph Ontario. He has researched the benefits of fundamental indexing for equity portfolios. He completed his undergrad studies at Brock University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance, and is a recent Master’s of Economics Graduate from the University of Guelph. He joined INPODE in 2014.
